So I got back the results of the swabs they took to see if he had a virus and they were negative. Yay!! but, on the downside it means there is something else going on that they are concerned with. He has been breathing with difficulty, and has these coughing fits.. so they ordered another chest xray for today and a CT scan for tomorrow.
They think that it's Lyric's Hickman catheter, but first want to see the results come back from the tests. They are also going to start him on an antifungal.. which is a one month treatment. They won't be putting in a Hickman again since he only has one treatment left, but they may put in a pik line.. which is in the arm.
His spirits are not the greatest.. he's getting tired of being poked and prodded. Tired of having the fevers..
He did go 12 hours without a fever which is also great news.
He woke up this morning and said he had a great dream.. he woke up at home and all his friends were there. aww... i felt so bad for him.

ReplyDeleteThe fever going away is a good, good sign, and everything will settle down now. Yay for the negative results on the swabs.
Hopefully his x-ray will be clear and you guys can go home soon.

everything sounds very positive, I hope he kicks this fever and bug quickly and can get the last treatment done so life can return to normal for him!!! Deb
ReplyDeletePoor little guy, I feel so bad for him. I'm glad to read that it's not a virus, and hope the chest x rays and ct scans come back clear. Also hoping that Lyric will be well enough to get his last chemotherapy done on schedule so the New Year can start on a happy note for all of you! As always my thoughts and many prayers for health and healing are with you!

Hey Sarah...Happy Belated Birthday Avery!!! I just read up on the last week of your entries and wow have you all been through hell...I had been wondering why I haven't seen you around...the last comment I wrote I was all joyful and stuff thinking it was finally over! You poor things. I am praying so hard for you all. If you need me to look after Avery for some days during the holidays please don't hesitate to ask. I am always here and she is so great.
